إزاء ما حدث ويحدث، منذ السابع من تشرين الأول/ أكتوبر، عام (2023)، في غزة، في فلسطين المحتلة،
من حيث انتفاضة المقاومة، المسماة “طوفان الأقصى”… ومن حيث الابادة الجماعية المنتظمة، التي يُقدم عليها الاحتلال… ومن حيث صمت الكنائس المسيحية المسؤولة كلها، شرقاً وغرباً… ومن حيث هرولة المسؤولين السياسيين “الكبار”، في الغرب، إلى “إسرائيل”…ومن حيث الهبّات الشعبية العالمية والمتعاظمة، المؤيدة لفلسطين…ومن حيث عجز المؤسسات الدولية “الكبرى”، المطلق، عن إصدار إدانة صريحة واحدة بحق “إسرائيل”، منذ “إنشائها” عام (1948) حتى اللحظة…
رأيت من واجبي مرة أخرى، أن أذكّر بحقائق تاريخية صرف، قديمة وحديثة، قد تكون غابت – أو غُيّبت! – عن الكثيرين، لِأختم، مِن ثمّ، مقاربتي هذه، بسؤال واحد لا غير.
الحقيقة الأولى
إن السيد المسيح، وهو على الصليب، قال حيال صالبيه:
“أيها الآب،
اغفر لهم،
لأنهم لا يدرون ما يعملون”!
الحقيقة الثانية
بالمقابل، فإن الكنيسة، وقد واجهت، في إيمان وتحدٍّ رائعين، أهوال الاضطهادات على يد اليهود أولاً، ثم السلطات الرومانية، حتى عام (313)، حيث أعلن الامبراطور قسطنطين حق المسيحية في الوجود، أسوة بالديانات الأخرى، قد أُخِذَت أيضاً منذ ذلك الحين، على صعيد الكثيرين من مسؤوليها، بنشوة التحالف مع أصحاب السلطة… وبدلاً من أن تعيش المحبة والغفران بكامل أبعادهما، أسوة بالسيد المسيح، تنمّرت واستصدرت، على مستوى الإمبراطورية كلها، شرقاً وغرباً، قوانين ظالمة بحق اليهود…
منها أنه حُظّر عليهم بموجبها، العمل في إدارات الإمبراطورية كلها، وامتلاك عبيد مسيحيين في مزارعهم الكثيرة والشاسعة، كما فُرِض عليهم السكن في أحياء خاصة بهم، ومُنِعوا من الخروج من بيوتهم، طوال الأعياد المسيحية الكبرى، مثل عيدَي الفصح والميلاد…
ولقد أقدمت الكنيسة المسيحية على كل ذلك، وأمعنت فيه، ممارسة، وكتابة، وصلاة، ووعظاً، طوال مئات السنوات، أملاً منها في إكراه اليهود على اعتناق المسيحية!
الحقيقة الثالثة
ليس هناك من يجهل أن هذا الموقف بعينه، كان السبب الرئيس في نشوء ايديولوجيا عنصرية، هي على طرفي نقيض مع السيد المسيح والمسيحية كما شاءها! إلا أنها نشأت، ونمت، وترسّخت، وتطوّرت، حتى صارت تُعرَف باللاسامية. ولقد اكتسحت، بمرور الزمن، الغرب كله، ومعه البلدان السلافية، ولا سيما روسيا. وليس من يجهل أنها أَلحقَت باليهود جميعاً، في جميع البلدان، ألواناً مروّعة من الآلام والتعسّف، استطالت على مدى قرون، تحت سمع الكنائس كلها، وبصرها وتأييدها، حتى انتهت إلى ما انتهت إليه، في منتصف القرن العشرين، مع هتلر، بما بات يُعرَف بالمحرقة النازية!
الحقيقة الرابعة
وثمة حقيقة أخرى، لا بد من الاعتراف بها، إن هي إلا نتيجة حتمية لهذا التاريخ المأساوي الطويل، وهي لم تعد بخافية على أحد. ذلك بأن حقداً مَرَضياً عارماً، بات يتملّك معظم اليهود، على نحو سافر، حيال البشر جميعاً، ولا سيما المستضعفين منهم، كما هم العرب اليوم، علماً بأن اليهودي عموماً كان في المجتمعات العربية والإسلامية الحاكمة، القديمة، في مأمن شبه تام من بعض ما عانى في الغرب “المسيحي”…
بل إن مؤرّخيهم، من فرنسيين وأميركيين، بل وإسرائيليين، يُجمِعون – كما جاء في كتاب لـ “آبا إيبان” بعنوان “شعبي”، في ترجمته الفرنسية، في الصفحة (155) – على “أن بعضهم بلغ في المجتمعات الاسلامية القديمة، لا سيما في الأندلس والمغرب، ما يفوق ما بلغوه من غنى ونفوذ، حتى في ألمانيا والنمسا في القرن التاسع عشر، وفي الولايات المتحدة في القرن العشرين”. وأما حقدهم على المسيحيين عموماً، وعلى الكنيسة الكاثوليكية خصوصاً، فليس من يجهله، إلا أنه، في حقيقة الأمر، مثار لتساؤلات مخيفة، حول مدى حجمه وتغلغله.
وحسبي الآن أن أشير إلى مُسلّمة ليس من ينكرها، وهو تحكّمهم المطلق بوسائل الإعلام العالمية، وترصّدهم الدؤوب والفاعل لجميع المسؤولين في الكنيسة الكاثوليكية، لا سيما في الولايات المتحدة، ومسارعتهم إلى إسقاط أبشع الاتهامات بحق من يجرؤ على رفع الصوت منهم، كما حصل للكاردينال “برنار لو”، رئيس أساقفة بوسطن، عندما تجرأ وكتب للرئيس جورج بوش، عام (2002)، متهماً إياه بالكذب على الشعب الأميركي وعلى الحقيقة!
وما جرى ويجري في غزة اليوم، دليل أكثر من صارخ، على أنهم تجاوزوا في “لاإنسانيتهم”، كل الخطوط والحدود!
وهل لأحد أن ينسى ما زُرع فيهم، منذ آلاف السنين، من يقين اعتقادهم بتفوقهم العرقي على الشعوب جميعاً، بفعل إيمانهم باختيار “الله” لهم، دون البشر جميعاً؟!
الحقيقة الخامسة
وأما الحقيقة الخامسة، فهي تلك العُقدة المَرَضِية، عُقدةُ الذنب، التي باتت تتحكّم كلياً، بجميع المجتمعات الغربية عموماً، وبجميع كنائسها الكاثوليكية خصوصاً، تلك العقدة التي يستحيل من دونها، تفسير تأييد المجتمع الغربي لنشوء “إسرائيل”، بكل ما سبق هذا “النشوء”، ورافقه وأعقبه، من خروق فاضحة للقوانين والأعراف الدولية. وهي هي التي تفسّر صمت الكنائس، ولا سيما الكاثوليكية منها، وعلى رأسها الفاتيكان، حيال المظالم الفاضحة والمتعاظمة، التي ارتُكِبت وتُرتكَب بحق فلسطين، حتى إنه استُبدِل اسمُها باسم “إسرائيل”، فيما لم يعد يُسمّى ما تبقى من فلسطين بيد العرب، في الوثائق الكاثوليكية الرسمية، سوى “الأرض المقدسة”!
وما يرتكب اليوم في غزة، بدم جليدي، من إبادات جماعية تطال على نحو خاص آلاف الأطفال والنساء، دون أن تُسمَع كلمة واحدة من مرجعية كاثوليكية عليا واحدة، في طول الأرض وعرضها، إنما هو في نظري، الدليل القاطع على اشتراك الجميع في الشعور المَرَضي العميق بالمسؤولية الكبرى في ما اقترفه المسؤولون الكنسيون السابقون، على نحو مباشر أو غير مباشر، منذ عهد الإمبراطور قسطنطين حتى المحرقة النازية، من أخطاء برّرت وغذّت “لاسامية” لعينة، ما كان لشيء على الإطلاق، أن يبرّرها أو يفسّرها في مسيحية يسوع الناصري!
السؤال
وهنا، أجدني منقاداً في مقاربتي الوجيزة هذه، إلى السؤال الفصل الوحيد:
أما آن لكنيسة يسوع أن تتحرّر من تبعيّتها المَرَضِيّة الألفيّة للإمبراطور قسطنطين، كي تعود بكامل حرّيتها، وتحدّيها وقوتها، إلى يسوع الفادي، وبالتالي إلى الإنسان، كل إنسان؟

An Open Letter from an Arab Syrian Priest
To Whom It May Concern…
Regarding what has been happening and is happening since October 7, 2023, in Gaza, in occupied Palestine,
In terms of the Palestinian Resistance uprising, Operation ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’…
And regarding the organized genocide carried out by the occupation forces…
And regarding the silence of all Christian churches, who are all responsible, both in the East and the West…
And regarding the rush of “senior” political officials in the West to ‘Israel’…
And regarding the growing global popular movements in support of Palestine…
And regarding the absolute inability of the major international institutions to issue a single explicit condemnation against ‘Israel’ since its establishment in 1948 until now…
I felt it was my duty, once again, to mention historical facts, both old and recent, which may have been overlooked by many, to conclude my approach with a single question.
The First Truth
The Lord Christ, while on the cross, said about His tormentors: ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing!’
The Second Truth
Conversely, the Church, which, with magnificent faith and determination, faced the horrors of persecution first by the Jews and then by the Roman authorities until year 313, when Emperor Constantine declared the right of Christianity to exist alongside other religions, was, from that time onwards, taken over by many of its leaders, who revelled in forming alliances with those in power… Instead of living love and forgiveness in its entirety, following the example of the Lord Christ, it became complicit in the Empire as a whole, both in the East and the West, enacting unjust laws against the Jews. These laws prohibited them from working in all imperial administrations, owning Christian slaves on their extensive estates, restricted their residence to specific neighborhoods, and prevented them from leaving their homes during major Christian holidays like Easter and Christmas.
The Christian Church, for hundreds of years, went so far as to practice, preach, pray and sermons, hoping to force Jews to convert to Christianity.
The Third Truth
There is no one who is unaware that this very stance was the main reason for the development of a racist ideology that is diametrically opposed to the Lord Christ and Christianity as He willed it. However, it grew, deeply rooted, and evolved into what is now known as anti-Semitism. It swept through the entire West and, along with it, Slavic countries, especially Russia. And it is not unknown that they inflicted various horrifying forms of pain and arbitrariness on all Jews in all countries, spanning centuries, under the watch of all churches and with their support, until it culminated in what happened in the mid-twentieth century with Hitler, known as the Nazi Holocaust.
The Fourth Truth
There is another truth that must be acknowledged: it is the inevitable result of this long tragic history and is no longer a secret to anyone. It is the fact that most Jews are now completely overwhelmed by a sick, rampant hatred against all people, especially the weaker among them, such as the Arabs today, bearing in mind that Jews in general, in the ancient Arab and Islamic societies, mostly shielded from some of the suffering they experienced in the west Christian.
Historians, including French, American, and even Israeli ones, agree, as stated in a book by Abba Eban titled “My People”, in its French translation on page 155, that some of them achieved wealth and influence in the ancient Islamic societies, especially in Al-Andalus and Morocco, surpassing what they achieved in Germany and Austria in the nineteenth century, and in the United States in the twentieth century. As for their hostility towards Christians in general and the Catholic Church in particular, it is not unknown. However, in reality, it raises chilling questions about the extent of its magnitude and penetration.
Now, it is sufficient to point out an undeniable fact. They have absolute control over global media, and they closely monitor and actively target all officials within the Catholic Church, especially in the United States. They rush to levy the most severe accusations against those who dare to speak out, as happened to Cardinal Bernard Lo, Archbishop of Boston, when he dared to write to President George Bush in 2002, accusing him of deceiving the American people and distorting the truth!
What is happening today in Gaza is more than a glaring testament to the extent of their” inhumanity” which has crossed all boundaries and limits.
Can anyone forget what has been ingrained in them over thousands of years, the conviction of their racial superiority over all peoples, due to their belief in “God’s” choice of them over all other humans?
The Fifth Truth
As for the fifth truth, it is that sickening complex, the guilt complex, which has come to entirely dominate all Western societies in general, and all of its Catholic churches in particular. This complex is the key to understanding the Western society’s support for the establishment of “Israel”, with all that this “establishment” entails, and the subsequent blatant violations of international laws and norms. It also explains the silence of the churches, especially the Catholic ones, with the Vatican at their helm, regarding the glaring and escalating injustices committed against Palestine. To the extent that its name was replaced with “Israel”’ and for what remains of Palestine under Arab control, it is no longer referred to as anything other than the “Holy Land” in the documents of the official Catholic Church.
What is happening today in Gaza, characterized by cold-blooded acts of genocide, particularly affecting thousands of children and women, is happening without a single word from a single high-ranking Catholic authority in any corner of the world. In my view, this is clear evidence of everyone’s deep, sickening sense of great responsibility for what previous church officials have directly or indirectly committed, from the time of Emperor Constantine to the Nazi Holocaust. These errors justified and fueled “anti-Semitism” in a way that nothing should ever justify or explain in the Christianity of Jesus the Nazarene.”
The question
Here, I find myself, through this concise approach, led to the single crucial question:
Isn’t it time for the Church of Jesus to break free from its millennial unhealthy subservience to Emperor Constantine, to fully regain its freedom, courage, and strength and allegiance to Jesus the Savior, and thus to Humanity, every human?

Lettre ouverte d’un prêtre arabe de Syrie
à Qui de Droit…
Devant ce qui se passe, depuis le 7 octobre 2023, à Gaza, en Palestine occupée,
quant au soulèvement de la Résistance, appelé « Déluge de l’AKSA »…
quant au génocide programmé, pratiqué par l’Occupant israélien…
quant au silence de toutes les Églises Chrétiennes Responsables, tant en Orient qu’en Occident…
quant à la précipitation des «grands» responsables politiques occidentaux, vers «Israël»…
quant aux sursauts populaires accrus au niveau du monde, en faveur de la Palestine…
quant à l’incapacité radicale de toutes les « grandes » Institutions mondiales, à proclamer la moindre condamnation contre «Israël», depuis sa «création» en 1948, jusqu’à ce jour…
J’ai jugé de mon devoir, encore une fois, de rappeler certaines vérités proprement historiques, tant anciennes que récentes, peut-être oubliées ou obnubilées…, pour finir cette approche par une question sans plus.
Première Vérité :
Jésus-Christ, sur la Croix, a dit à l’égard de ses assassins :
« Père,
Pardonne-leur,
Car ils ne savent pas ce qu’ils font » !
Deuxième Vérité :
Par contre, Son Église, qui avait pourtant affronté avec une foi et une audace admirables, les persécutions menées contre Elle, par les juifs d’abord, puis par le Pouvoir Romain, jusqu’en 313, date à laquelle l’Empereur Constantin reconnut au Christianisme le droit de vivre en liberté, à l’instar des autres religions, cette Église donc s’est laissée, depuis ce moment, envoûter, au niveau d’un grand nombre de ses responsables, par l’ivresse de la collusion avec les hommes du Pouvoir… Et, au lieu de vivre l’amour et le pardon en toutes leurs implications, à l’exemple du Christ, elle s’est enhardie et a fait proclamer contre les juifs de tout l’Empire, des lois extrêmement oppressives… Ces lois leur interdisaient désormais de travailler dans toute l’administration de l’Empire, de posséder des esclaves chrétiens dans leurs nombreuses et immenses entreprises agricoles. Elles leur imposaient aussi d’habiter dans des quartiers propres à eux (les ghettos), et de rester enfermés dans leurs maisons, durant les grandes fêtes chrétiennes, comme Pâques et Noël…
Or l’Église Chrétienne entreprenait tout cela, et s’y est engouffrée, au niveau de la pratique, de l’écriture, de la prière et de la prédication, durant des centaines d’années, dans l’espoir unique de forcer les juifs à embrasser le christianisme !…
Troisième Vérité :
Nul n’ignore que ce comportement fut à l’origine d’une idéologie raciste, qui était aux antipodes de ce qu’étaient le Christ et le Christianisme comme Il l’avait voulu !
Cependant cette idéologie vit le jour, s’approfondit, et évolua au point de devenir ce qu’on entend par antisémitisme. Et avec le temps, celui-ci envahit tout l’Occident, ainsi que les pays slaves, particulièrement la Russie. Nul n’ignore aussi combien il a causé à tous les juifs, en tous ces pays, des souffrances aussi horribles qu’arbitraires, qui s’étalèrent sur des siècles, sous le regard et l’accord de toutes les Églises, pour finir, en plein milieu du 20ème siècle, par ce qu’on appelle « l’Holocauste Nazie » !
Quatrième Vérité :
Il est une autre vérité, incontournable celle-là, car elle est une conséquence fatale, de cette longue et dramatique histoire, que plus personne n’ignore. C’est le fait d’une haine immense et maladive, qui obsède désormais la presque totalité des juifs, à l’encontre de tout être humain, et particulièrement des « faibles », comme le sont les arabes aujourd’hui ! Et pourtant les juifs avaient presque toujours vécu, dans les anciennes sociétés arabes et musulmanes, à l’abri de ce qu’ils ont enduré dans l’Occident « chrétien » !…
Bien plus, leurs historiens, aussi bien français et américains qu’israéliens, sont unanimes à reconnaître – comme le dit « Aba Eban », dans la traduction française de son livre « Mon peuple », page 155 – « que certains d’entre eux ont joui dans les anciennes sociétés musulmanes, particulièrement en Andalousie et au Maghreb, de bien plus de richesse et d’influence, qu’ils n’en jouirent, même en Autriche et Allemagne, au 19ème siècle, et aux États-Unis au 20ème siècle » !
Quant à la haine qu’ils nourrissent à l’égard des chrétiens en général, et des Églises Catholiques en particulier, loin de se cacher, elle est en fait source d’interrogations terribles, quant à sa dimension et son expansion.
Qu’il me suffise maintenant de signaler une évidence que plus personne n’ignore. C’est leur mainmise totale sur tous les moyens de communication au niveau du monde, ainsi que leur souci tenace et efficace de contrôle de tous les responsables de l’Église Catholique, particulièrement aux États-Unis, et leur précipitation à charger des pires accusations, celui qui d’entre eux hausse le ton, comme il est arrivé au Cardinal « Bernard Law », archevêque de Boston, quand il a osé écrire au Président Georges Bush, en 2002, l’accusant de mentir au peuple américain et à la vérité !
D’ailleurs ce qui se passe à Gaza en ce moment, est la preuve plus qu’évidente, que les Sionistes ont franchi en leur « inhumanité », toutes les lignes et toutes les bornes.
Peut-on, d’autre part, oublier ce qui a été inoculé en eux, depuis des millénaires, quant à la certitude de leur foi en leur supériorité raciale, du fait de leur croyance que c’est « Dieu » qui les a élus, à l’exception de tous les peuples !
Cinquième Vérité :
Cette cinquième vérité n’est autre qu’un complexe de culpabilité, absolument morbide, qui obsède désormais les sociétés occidentales en général, et les églises catholiques en particulier, complexe sans lequel il est impossible d’expliquer l’appui de l’Occident à la création « d’Israël », vu toutes les graves infractions aux lois internationales, qui ont précédé, accompagné et suivi cette « création ». Et c’est ce complexe même qui explique le silence des Églises, plus particulièrement les Églises Catholiques, le Vatican en tête, face aux injustices flagrantes et croissantes qui ont été commises et qui se commettent en Palestine, au point que son nom a été supplanté par celui d’Israël, tandis que ce qui en reste aux mains des arabes, n’est plus désormais appelé dans les documents catholiques officiels, que du nom de « Terre Sainte ».
Par ailleurs, ce qui se commet en ce moment à Gaza, avec un sang froid glacial, en matière de génocide dirigé manifestement contre des milliers d’enfants et de femmes, sans que l’on entende le moindre mot de la part des hauts Responsables ecclésiastiques, au niveau du monde, constitue pour moi la preuve éclatante de la participation de tous, au profond sentiment de culpabilité vis-à-vis des responsabilités graves des anciens dignitaires ecclésiastiques, depuis l’époque de l’Empereur Constantin, jusqu’à l’Holocauste nazie. Ces fautes ont, hélas, expliqué et alimenté un « antisémitisme » maudit, que rien, absolument rien, ne pouvait justifier ou expliquer, dans le Christianisme de Jésus de Nazareth !
La question :
J’en viens maintenant, dans cette brève approche, à mon unique question.
N’est-il pas enfin temps pour l’Église du Christ, de se libérer de sa servitude maladive à l’Empereur Constantin, pour revenir, en toute liberté, audace et force, au Jésus Rédempteur, et donc à l’Homme, Tout homme ?
